Framing a collectable item can be challenging.
It requires a sensitive approach to the material and an attention
to acid-free archive quality materials. This delicate flag was
hand-sewn to a fabric lined backer with color coordinated thread
and is highlighted with a small silver nameplate indicating its
year and origin.

Michigan
July 4, 1837
For our collector, each flag in his collection represents an
important period in our country's history. This particular piece
was commissioned around the time of Michigan's statehood. When
Michigan was admitted to the Union on January 26, 1837, as the
26th state, it was primarily a fur-trading territory. Its rich
agricultural resources were not developed until later in the century.
